Job summary

AACTE is seeking a Special Education Teacher for Byfield, MA to provide individualized instruction for students with autism and other disabilities. The position runs 36 weeks, full-time, 8:10 am–3:10 pm, delivering IEPs and behavioral strategies while collaborating with staff and families.

You will monitor progress, adjust teaching strategies, and maintain a safe classroom. A MA special education license and at least one year of experience are required, with a compassionate, flexible approach.

Qualifications

• MA special education teacher license required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in special education.
• Strong communication and behavioral management skills.
• Ability to work with nonverbal students with autism.
• Background check clearance.
• Ability to work full-time days 8:10 am–3:10 pm.
• Comfortable with grades 2–4.
• Flexible, compassionate demeanor.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism and other disabilities.
• Use behavioral techniques to promote student engagement and progress.

• Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
