Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher to support a school in Essex County, MA for the 2026–2027 school year. Start ASAP; End Date June 17, 2027. Onsite, 33.75 hours per week.

Massachusetts DESE license required for moderate or severe disabilities, with experience in autism-support classrooms. The role offers the opportunity to design individualized learning plans, collaborate with a school-based team, and use data-driven strategies to monitor student

Qualifications

• Active MA DESE license for Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities or Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities.
• Experience supporting students in highly structured, specialized classroom environments.
• Ability to provide intensive, individualized instruction tailored to varying learning and developmental needs.
• Familiarity with evidence-based strategies used in autism-support classroom programs.
• Ability to work an on-site, Monday–Friday school schedule for the duration of the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, specialized instruction in an elementary self-contained Autism classroom setting.
• Design and implement individualized learning plans aligned to student needs and progress.
• Use appropriate instructional and behavioral supports to help students access learning throughout the day.
• Collaborate with school-based team members to maintain consistency across classroom routines and supports.
• Track student progress and adjust instruction based on data and observed outcomes.
