Qualifications

• New Jersey Special Education Teacher certification (Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities)
• Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
• Master's degree in Special Education

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and participate in IEP processes to identify learning needs and actions.
• Assist in developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with PPTs.
• Support students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Coordinate with administrators and other staff to identify student needs and share information with families.
• Serve as a liaison between home and school to promote student growth.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current with educational research.
• Maintain accurate records and provide information to colleges and employers as required.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with families.
