Job summary

PediaStaff is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a private therapeutic day school in Lisle, IL. The role involves teaching in a self-contained classroom for students with autism and requires a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.

The school day runs 7:45am–3:45pm with ESY/summer hours 7:45am–1:15pm. Caseload is 7–9 students, with a focus on sensory, social-emotional, functional and academic goals. Paraprofessional support is provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and have the LBS1 certification.
• Autism experience required.
• Pediatric experience strongly preferred.
• Caseload is 7-9 students in a self-contained classroom.
• Elementary (2-4th) grade.
• School day 7:45am–3:45pm and ESY/Summer hours 7:45am–1:15pm.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement individualized education plans for students with autism.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student progress.
• Work with a paraprofessional to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
