• Self-Contained Classroom – 1st & 2nd Grade

These classrooms primarily serve students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), making this an excellent opportunity for educators who have experience supporting students with autism and enjoy creating structured, engaging learning environments that promote growth and independence.

What You'll Do:

As a Special Education Teacher, you'll design and deliver individualized instruction that meets each student's unique academic, behavioral, communication, and functional needs. You'll develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress, adapt instructional strategies, and maintain accurate educational documentation. Collaboration is a key part of this role, as you'll partner with paraprofessionals, related service providers, general education staff, and families to ensure students receive comprehensive support throughout the school day.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement. Previous experience working with elementary students in self-contained special education classrooms is preferred, particularly with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
