Job summary

SSNY Cares, Inc. is seeking a Job Specialist to provide direct care services to adults with autism in our structured employment programs. The role covers work sites, community activities, and daily support to promote independence and safe, positive engagement.

Training is provided with no prior experience required. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, respectful, and committed to helping individuals feel supported and engaged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher; transcripts to be provided.
• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Must pass all required background checks (CR, CARI, DMV, fingerprinting, drug screening, physical, PPD).
• Ability to interact professionally with individuals with autism and communicate well in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routines, personal care, transportation, and behavior support.
• Support individuals in completing tasks and developing life skills to promote independence.
• Assist with job search planning, resume writing, interviewing, and employer connections.
• Document care and progress; work as part of a professional care team.
