Job summary

Devereux CARES is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support students aged 5–21 with autism in a educational setting. You will work on a multidisciplinary team, ensure safety, and help implement skill-building and behavior programs.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, year-round, with compensation of $20.00–$22.80 per hour based on experience, plus training and future growth opportunities. Benefits eligibility starts after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Special Education preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavior disorders preferred.
• Commitment to Devereux’s abuse prevention and reporting policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety.
• Establish classroom environments conducive to learning and guide students to appropriate behaviors.
• Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs.
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping.
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives.
