Job summary

Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, seeks a Sr. Speech and Language Specialist for the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC) to assess and address communication needs of students.

Reporting to the Principal, you will conduct language assessments, develop and implement therapy programs, monitor progress, and participate in IEP meetings to coordinate goals with families and school teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology required.
• NJ SPEECH LANGUAGE SPECIALIST STANDARD CERTIFICATE (3462) or eligibility required.
• Two years of experience, including work with students with autism.
• Background checks and health clearances required (Mantoux test, Hepatitis B).

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive assessments of language, communication, feeding, and social needs.
• Analyzes diagnostic data and develops targeted intervention programs.
• Provides direct and indirect therapy and monitors student progress.
• Participates in IEP meetings and collaborates with families and school teams.
• Ensures coordination across Child Study Teams and school district staff.
