Job summary

True Care in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an Authorizations Specialist for a full-time, onsite role. You will handle all aspects of patient service authorizations, verify eligibility, and liaise with contracted partners to ensure continuity of services.

The ideal candidate will have experience with HHAeXchange, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team to support multiple lines of business.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic office software and systems.
• Proficient communication over phone, email and in person.
• 1-2 years of homecare experience is a plus.
• Experience with HHAeXchange is required.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance authorization forms for accuracy and corrections.
• Monitor patient authorizations and notify if dates expire.
• Audit authorizations for correct codes and units before entry.
• Enter confirmed authorizations into HHAeXchange and coordinate with scheduling.
• Verify eligibility on contract portals and Medicaid portals as needed.
• Follow processes for paperless data tracking and documentation.
• Support claims appeals and data retrieval as requested.
• Act as liaison between insurance companies and the agency.
• Maintain logs and reports per company standards.
• Provide superior customer service via phone, fax, and documentation.
