Mindrift is seeking native German speakers in New York for a paid, 3-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan. You will spend 1–3 days with our research team and walk us through how you use your phone and favourite apps in daily life.

Eligibility includes 18+, NYC resident, native German speaker who grew up in Austria, uses German daily, and 3+ years with a smartphone as personal phone. Starts Oct 16 with options Mon-Wed or Thu-Sat; compensation is $100/hour, up to $2,400 for the full study.

Mindrift is running a research study on how people use their phones, apps and everyday digital tools, and how that differs across languages and cultures. We're looking for native German speakers in New York to join a paid, 3-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan.

Why your language matters

Most technology is still designed with English speakers in mind. This study helps researchers understand how people who communicate in German actually use their devices, so future products work better for them.

Who we're looking for

• 18+ and currently living in NYC.
• A native German speaker who grew up in Austria.
• You use German in everyday life: texting friends, email, notes.
• You’ve used a smartphone as your main personal phone for 3+ years.
• Comfortable communicating in English.
• Available for 3 consecutive days (Mon-Wed or Thu-Sat), starting October 16 on Friday.
• Not currently employed by a tech or AI company.
