Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking Pipe Layers to join our Texas Division. You will install water and sewer piping, align and grade pipe, and inspect systems on active construction sites in the Austin area.

Required: High School Diploma or GED and 2–3 years of underground water line experience; 3+ years preferred. This is full-time, on-site work with potential overtime. Passing a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of related experience laying underground water lines, sanitary or storm sewers required.
• 3+ years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install mechanical joint water line, bolt together water line, install air release valves and inline valves.
• Grade for flow of sewer line pipe.
• Lay ductile water line and PVC sewer pipe; set line and grade for water line/sewer lines.
• Plan pipe installation or repair according to specifications.
• Connects pipe pieces and seals joints; secures pipes to structures.
