Job summary

Rho is seeking an Events & Community Manager to establish our go-to banking platform presence in Austin's startup scene and Texas VC founder community. You will build authentic relationships, strategize events, and execute programs that connect founders, operators, and investors with empathy and executional excellence.

Responsibilities include creating an Austin-focused events roadmap, managing anchor events, developing partnerships, and driving engagement through founder-centric experiences

Qualifications

• 5-7 years building and scaling engaged professional communities.
• Strong existing network in the Austin and broader Texas startup ecosystem.
• Boots-on-the-ground mentality; able to be ubiquitous in a market.
• Deep understanding of startup ecosystem dynamics across stages.
• Taste for events and community initiatives that resonate with founders.
• Track record of strategic partnerships with ecosystem players.
• Data-driven approach with KPI setup and experiments.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in high-growth startups, VCs, or scaleups in community/marketing roles.
• Experience building communities for B2B SaaS/fintech.
• Active social media presence on Twitter/X and LinkedIn.

Responsibilities

• Events Strategy: develop an Austin-focused events roadmap and manage budget and success metrics.
• Community Building: cultivate relationships with VCs, founders, and ecosystem builders across Austin and Texas.
• Program Excellence: own end-to-end event planning and establish at least one major anchor event.
• Partnership Development: build relationships with VC firms, accelerators, and community orgs like Capital Factory.
• Customer Engagement: run targeted programming to strengthen brand loyalty among Rho customers.
• Brand Ambassador: represent Rho in the Austin startup ecosystem and raise founder awareness.
