Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX, is seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist for the Diagnostic Radiology department. You will prepare patients for imaging, position patients, and select exposure factors to ensure high-quality images.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT Radiography credentialing required before hire date.
• Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification (General Practice) required before hire date.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience or an associate/technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for imaging and select exposure factors accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations.
• Observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity; monitor protocols and update as needed.
• Follow radiation safety procedures to minimize patient exposure.
• Ensure high-quality image submission to PACS with correct lead markers and patient data/history.
• Maintain properly functioning equipment and report malfunctions.
• Keep department clean and organized, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage.
• Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
