Job summary

National Association of Women in Construction in Austin, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for civil and commercial projects. This full-time, on-site role involves site visits, data gathering, and collaboration with project teams.

You will develop labor, material, equipment, and overhead cost breakdowns, use Bluebeam or similar tools, and participate in bid preparation and supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in civil/commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction management, cost control, and project management.
• Proficiency with estimating software, especially Bluebeam or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical and attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret plans, specs, contracts, and bid documents.
• Experience with public and private bidding processes.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and docs to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams to gather pricing information.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and data impacting costs.
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
• Monitor costs against estimates and implement cost-control measures.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence.
