Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is hiring a Specialist Solutions Architect for Aurora PostgreSQL to serve as the technical authority for AWS's largest customers.

You will architect, migrate, and operate PostgreSQL workloads on Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS, focusing deeply on Aurora PostgreSQL, replication, and high-availability patterns. You will partner with the Aurora service team, mentor colleagues, publish technical content, and present at AWS events and conferences.

Qualifications

• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS for PostgreSQL architectures.
• Hands-on with PostgreSQL internals, vacuum and MVCC behavior.
• Proven migration experience to Aurora PostgreSQL (Oracle/SQL Server to PostgreSQL).
• Experience with AWS database/migration tools like DMS and SCT.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor for customers migrating to Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS.
• Provide architectural guidance on performance, scalability, HA/DR, and security.
• Design architectures leveraging storage auto-scaling, read replicas, and Global Database.
• Collaborate with the Aurora service team to surface customer patterns and drive roadmap.
• Lead whiteboard sessions, architecture reviews, and deep-dive technical discussions.
• Develop technical content and publish thought leadership pieces.
• Advise complex database migrations and validate performance post-migration.
• Present at AWS events and customer workshops; mentor teammates.
