Job summary

Ascend Rehab Services, Inc. is seeking an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an in-person role in California.

Open to full-time or part-time candidates, with responsibilities spanning AAC evaluations, SGDs, and assistive technology for pediatric clients. Ideal candidates will have AAC experience, a CA SLP license, and CCC-SLP, with ability to work across Early Intervention, outpatient clinics, and school settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• CCC-SLP credential required.
• CA State SLP License required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to evaluate patients' communication needs and abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized AAC plans for each patient.
• Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals to support students in school settings.
• Provide training and support to families and caregivers on AAC device usage.
• Stay updated on AAC advancements to enhance patient care.

Job description

Ascend has recently acquired ACTS (Augmentative Communication & Technology Services), a well-established San Francisco Bay Area AAC practice specializing in Augmentative and Alternative Communication services and assistive technology support for pediatric populations. As we continue expanding our AAC services, we are currently hiring an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Specialist / Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an in-person position. We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates.

This role is ideal for an SLP with experience or strong interest in AAC evaluations, speech generating devices (SGDs), assistive technology, autism support, and complex communication needs. Experience with AAC platforms such as Tobii Dynavox, TouchChat, LAMP Words for Life, Proloquo2Go, and other communication systems is highly valued.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• AAC related coursework/ experience
• Must have a CA State SLP License
• Proven experience in AAC assessment
• Prior school-based SLP experience is a plus!
