Job summary

Wayne Brothers, Inc is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on geotechnical and foundation projects. You will supervise deep foundation, shoring, and ground improvement work, coordinating drilling and equipment logistics on busy sites.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering background or construction management experience, OSHA certifications, and a valid driver's license. A strong safety mindset and clear communication are essential for success on multi-site projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for deep foundation, ground improvement, and shoring work.
• Set up and dismantle drills; manage equipment logistics and sequencing.
• Monitor safety and ensure work is performed efficiently.
• Read blueprints and communicate work processes to field crew.
• Record daily production, drill logs, and relay data to PM.
• Maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and site regulations.
• Travel to project sites; support multiple worksites as needed.

Position Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Performs all the essential job functions of a Superintendent .
• Field manage deep foundation, ground improvement, and shoring work
• Manage equipment logistics and drilling sequencing
• Duties will include setting drill up in the beginning of the job and taking it apart at the end of the job.
• Performing morning PTP discussions
• Ensure that all work is being performed in a safe and efficient manner.
• capable of reading blueprints
• Communicate with and teach proper work processes to field crew.
• Record daily production schedule and drill logs (clear and legible )
• Record important data and relay to the PM.
• Arrive at the project site on time.
• Work with materials such as wood, concrete, grout, steel etc.
• Work with hoses (air, grout, water, etc.) for all types of jobs on the jobsite.
• Ensuring that pile elevations are set to what are required by the plans
• Proficient in set up of laser and being able to figure out elevations.
• Conducts safety checks before starting up and operating (and after shutting down) heavy equipment pieces using standard checklists.
• Reviews site specifications with PM
• Operates all light equipment necessary (e.g., concrete, grout vibrator, grout plant/concrete pump, compacting equipment, basic hand tools etc.) for operations.
• Operates selected pieces of heavy equipment to include, but not limited to, the following pieces of equipment:
• Lull (required)
• Drill Rig (desirable)
• Hooks up necessary attachments to equipment to complete geo structural and civil task(s).
• Conducts routine preventative maintenance necessary to keep equipment operating effectively and efficiently.
• Makes minor repairs as necessary to keep equipment safe and operational.
• Complies with all applicable state, company and OSHA rules, regulations, and guidelines necessary for safe operation of heavy equipment at the job site.
• Reports any job site and/or WBI employee safety violation(s) to appropriate supervisory personnel.
• Serves as a safe and productive member of a geotechnical crew/team.
• Assists operators and crew in installing ground improvements, piles, etc.
• Assists operators and crew to move dirt on/off site as needed.
• Assists operators, apprentices, and crew in properly draining water during grading operations.
• Observe and help to remove all hazards in a task.
• Knowledge of drilling tooling, including but not limited to (augers, leads, cessions, power packs, rotary head, grout pump)
• Familiar with ICE (International Construction Equipment) drilling equipment
• Familiar with cranes of all types
• Familiar with drill rigs such as (Comacchio, CZM, Watson, Casagrande, TEI Rock drills, Klemm, Bauer, etc..)

• Vocational or technical training/experience in grading/site development - desirable
• OSHA - 10 Hour Certification – required.
• OSHA - 30 Hour Certification – required.

• Equipment inspection of all types of equipment as well as proper start up and shut down
