Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY
To safely and efficiently operate the battery of equipment approved for Operator Technicians, while meeting production goals and quality standards and mentoring apprentices, to grow in their roles and capabilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Safely operate the operator tech battery of equipment, without incident while maintaining daily inspection logs as well as daily preventative maintenance checks
- Efficiently /effectively operate equipment in order to increase engagement and decrease downtime, while properly communicating with the project supervision on any issues that are encountered throughout the day
- Work with all team members to encourage their growth and the overall progress towards the daily, weekly, monthly and overall project goals
- Understand how to utilize the assigned equipment and hand tools to insure proper drainage and erosion control measures on site
- Be a mentor to other Apprentices
- Perform all assigned roles, responsibilities, and related work processes/tasks in the safest possible manner. Ensure that a safe, accident/incident-free work environment is maintained for all co-workers, customers, clients, suppliers, etc. at all times.
Position Requirements
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma/GED – Preferred
- Vocational or technical training/work experience in grading/site development/construction - Preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid driver’s license – preferred
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification – Required; training provided by Wayne Brothers
- WB Craft Training and certifications through Level I (Grading) - preferred
- Trenching/excavation certification - preferred
Physical Demands
- Lifting, carrying or moving up to 25 pounds
- Sitting for long periods of time on heavy equipment
