Job summary

Wayne Brothers, Inc. is seeking an Operator Technician to safely and efficiently operate the battery of equipment approved for the role, while meeting production goals and quality standards and mentoring apprentices.

On outdoor, multi-activity worksites, you will perform daily inspections, PM checks, communicate with supervision, and help teammates reach daily, weekly, and monthly project objectives. A strong focus on safety and teamwork is required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate the operator tech battery of equipment, without incident while maintaining daily inspection logs as well as daily preventative maintenance checks
  • Efficiently /effectively operate equipment in order to increase engagement and decrease downtime, while properly communicating with the project supervision on any issues that are encountered throughout the day
  • Work with all team members to encourage their growth and the overall progress towards the daily, weekly, monthly and overall project goals
  • Understand how to utilize the assigned equipment and hand tools to insure proper drainage and erosion control measures on site
  • Be a mentor to other Apprentices
  • Perform all assigned roles, responsibilities, and related work processes/tasks in the safest possible manner. Ensure that a safe, accident/incident-free work environment is maintained for all co-workers, customers, clients, suppliers, etc. at all times.

POSITION SUMMARY

Position Requirements
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED – Preferred
  • Vocational or technical training/work experience in grading/site development/construction - Preferred

  • Trenching/excavation certification - preferred
Physical Demands
  • Lifting, carrying or moving up to 25 pounds
  • Sitting for long periods of time on heavy equipment
