Job summary

San Bernardino County is seeking an Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector Manager to plan, organize, and administer specialized accounting or auditing functions for the county government.

Essential duties include planning and scheduling financial, compliance, and operational audits; reviewing audit reports; advising management on recommendations; and supervising the preparation of statistical and financial statements.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience supervising professional-level accounting operations in governmental functions such as accounting, payroll, or auditing.
• Two years of experience as a Supervising Accountant/Auditor within ATC.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with 24 accounting units and 24 business units; CPA license may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and administer specialized accounting or auditing functions for the county.
• Plan and schedule financial, compliance, and operational audits; review audit reports.
• Advise management on audit findings and recommendations; supervise preparation of financial reports.
• Manage county-wide functions including collections, payroll, accounts payable, general accounting, auditing, disaster claims, or property tax.
• Support the ATC Manager in ongoing financial governance and reporting.
