Department of Justice seeks an Auditor (GS-0511-13) to support internal control assessments, compliance activities, and financial reviews in a federal environment.

To qualify for the position of Auditor, at GS-0511-13, you must meet the basic qualification requirements (see Education field below) AND specialized experience listed below.
For the GS-13, I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service reviewing financial statements and inspecting bookkeeping systems for accuracy; identifying financial risks or potential fraud AND documenting formal audit reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 09/29/2026 of this announcement.

Basic Requirements: 1. Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (NOTE: Transcripts must be provided)

Education must be reviewed and certified by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, in order for it to be creditable towards your qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from accredited institution.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
