Job summary

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) invites qualified undergraduate and graduate students to join the DCSA Student Experience (DSE) Summer ’27 Cohort. Participants must stay enrolled full-time through October 2028 and commit to a minimum 10-week program (400 hours), with start dates on 31 May 2027 or 14 June 2027.

As a team auditing trainee, you will assist with audits under supervision, collect and analyze data, prepare working papers, and present findings in briefings

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student with full-time status through October 2028.
• GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher required to maintain eligibility.
• Telework eligible but not full-time; routine in-office reporting required.

Responsibilities

• Works as a team auditor trainee under supervision.
• Assist in audit assignments to gain experience planning and conducting audits.
• Apply conventional audit techniques to simple evaluations (cost data, inventory).
• Research directives, laws, and operating instructions related to DCSA functions.
• Collect data via interviews and review of records.
• Document audit results and analyze data.
• Present data in briefings and written products.
• Prepare audit working papers to support steps taken.
• Participate in meetings to discuss progress and findings.
• Prepare outline and rough draft findings with recommendations.
• Prepare briefing materials for status updates and exit conferences.
• Maintain effective agency relations during audits.
