Job summary

Withum’s Audit Supervisor role in Orange County, CA leads engagements from planning to completion and mentors staff. Based in our Irvine-area office, the role requires strong US GAAP knowledge and client relationship skills.

You will manage multiple engagements, oversee staffing and budgets, and promote open communication with partners. Travel may be required; compensation ranges from $110,000 to $120,000 with a competitive benefits package and bonus program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA license, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed.
• At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world‑class client service to clients.
• Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
• Provide supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partner.
• Collaborate with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines.
• Create and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit and conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly.
• Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.

The compensation range for this position is $110,000–$120,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, and the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
