Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen is seeking an Audit & Assurance Senior to join CLA Northeast’s Higher Education industry team in an in-office role serving university clients. You will lead day-to-day audit engagements, manage budgets, plan fieldwork, and ensure timely financial statements and disclosures.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA eligibility is preferred, with at least two years in public accounting and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
• Two or more years of public accounting experience with emphasis in financial statement preparation, audits, reviews, and compilations is required.
• Prior experience with an established public accounting or professional services firm is preferred.
• Ability to travel to client sites which may also require infrequent overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Execute and manage day-to-day activities of audit engagements for university clients from start to finish, including managing the budget, planning, fieldwork, directing staff and completing financial statements, including related disclosures.
• Review client accounting and operating procedures.
• Develop and assess the design and implementation of internal controls.
• Prepare all necessary financial statement and related disclosures and reportable condition correspondence letters.
• Utilize proactive and effective communication with staff, management, and clients to communicate technical matters to both clients and management.
