Job summary

North Carolina Office of the State Auditor is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support the Risk Management Team. You will review, edit, and finalize audit reports across multiple divisions, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and transparent structure in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

The role also entails performing Engagement Quality Reviews, contributing to annual risk assessments, and identifying compliance risks while upholding agency writing standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment
• An equivalent combination of training and experience

Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and finalize audit reports across four divisions, ranging from concise (5–10 pages) to large-scale (200–500 pages) technical findings
• Assist with performing Engagement Quality Reviews on audits performed by OSA
• Contribute to the preparation of OSA's annual System of Quality Management Risk Assessment and ongoing monitoring
• Identify compliance risks related to applicable standards and internal policy, while ensuring OSA quality expectations
• Attend weekly meetings with report writers to provide editorial guidance over drafts, ensure clarity, and uphold agency writing standards
• Collaborate closely with Communications, Legal, and the broader writing team to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with agency messaging
