Springborn Staffing partners with a respected public accounting firm in Southern Maine to hire an Audit Principal. This senior leadership role oversees complex audit engagements, mentors professionals across the audit team, and works with firm leadership on growth and strategic initiatives.

This confidential opportunity seeks an experienced Senior Manager/Director level professional with CPA, 15+ years of public accounting audit, and a track record of leading complex engagements and delivering

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• 15+ years of public accounting audit experience.
• Experience leading complex assurance engagements.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and financial reporting.
• Experience with audits across commercial, nonprofit, governmental, or employee benefit plans.
• Proven leadership and team development experience.
• Strong client relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and business judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee audit engagements from planning through issuance.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and key client relationship leader.
• Review financial statements and audit deliverables.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters.
• Manage engagement staffing, budgets, and workflow.
• Mentor and develop Managers, Seniors, and Staff.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Support practice growth and client development efforts.
