Johnson Block & Company is seeking an Audit Manager to partner with leaders, oversee all engagement stages, and identify new business opportunities in a hybrid role across our Wisconsin offices (La Crosse, Madison area). You will guide planning, compliance, and consulting activities while mentoring staff and promoting efficiency.

Qualifications

• Current CPA certification required.
• 5+ years previous auditing experience.
• Excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Commitment to quality and timely completion of work.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and various tax and accounting software including CCH products, Creative Solutions products, and research tools.
• Prior experience training and mentoring entry level accountants and interns.

Responsibilities

• Manage complicated audit, review and compilation areas in accordance with firm and professional standards.
• Ensure engagement work is completed timely by staff, and within assigned time budgets.
• Manage department workflow and ensure staff meet billable hour expectations.
• Mentor, motivate and develop audit staff by providing learning opportunities, guidance and serving as a professional role model.
• Respond to firm associate requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Manage monthly client billings in a timely manner.
• Develop relationships with clients and promote firm services to attract new business.
• Participate in recruitment efforts for staff.
• Support firm strategic planning and continuous improvement.
