Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is offering a 12-week Summer Internship in Internal Audit (IA). The program runs May–August or June–September, with up to 40 hours per week in a hybrid work environment from Chicago.

Open to undergrad and graduate students actively enrolled at a college or university. Interns will participate in audit and validation engagements, working with engagement leads and supervisors to execute planning, fieldwork, and reporting tasks, focusing on financial risk

Qualifications

• Rising senior or second-year graduate student, graduating December 2027 or May/August 2028.
• Majors include Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
• No technical experience required beyond general Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive them to completion, willingness to take on undefined tasks and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

• The summer internship program will include assignments on audit and/or validation engagements with planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
• Interns will work with engagement Leads and supervisors to execute tasks, including planning deliverables and control testing.
• Areas of audit focus include Financial Risk Management and Model Risk Management.
• In executing the assigned audit work, interns will document process walkthroughs, control design, and operating effectiveness procedures.
