Job summary

PwC South Africa is seeking an Audit Intern to gain exposure to financial statement audits within the Assurance practice. You will support audit teams, learn PwC's methodologies, and contribute to client service initiatives while observing professional work environments.

We expect you to be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your state of employment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least a 3.0 overall GPA.
• Before starting full-time at PwC, meet educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment.
• Client service intern positions are entry-level; typically third year of a four-year degree or fourth year of a five-year program.

Responsibilities

• Supporting audit teams in conducting financial statement audits.
• Participating in review and verification of financial documents to uphold standards.
• Assisting in analysis and interpretation of financial data to identify trends.
• Engaging in documentation of audit processes and findings.
• Learning and applying GAAP and GAAS in audit tasks.
• Collaborating with team members to monitor financial trends and assess risk.
• Contributing to the evaluation of internal controls and identifying areas for improvement.
• Utilizing data analysis to support the audit process and enhance financial reporting.
• Observing and learning from experienced auditors to develop a foundation in audit practices.
