Job summary

CLA is seeking an Audit Director for its National Assurance Group to support the State and Local Government practice. The ideal candidate will bring extensive GASB-focused audit experience, with a strong understanding of GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and Government Auditing Standards.

This role reports to the Managing Principal of National Assurance and offers flexible location within the United States. Responsibilities include technical review, process improvement, and collaboration across engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification is required or preferred.
• Current knowledge of Government Auditing Standards, GASB pronouncements, and Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Interact with engagement teams and clients across Firm levels.
• Perform quality control review of assurance engagements.
• Analyze observations, conduct root-cause analysis, and suggest process improvements.
• Serve as a technical resource for applying professional standards and GAAP.
• Develop and maintain assurance methodology and learning materials.
• Contribute to thought leadership for internal and external users.
