Job summary

CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) seeks an Audit Director in the National Assurance Group to support state and local government and higher education audits. You’ll lead engagements, perform QC reviews, and advise on GASB, GAAP, and GAO standards, with a focus on quality and client service.

The ideal candidate has a accounting/finance degree, CPA, and at least 6 years in public accounting, with strong communication and analytical skills. Location flexible within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6 years of experience in a public accounting environment or equivalent.
• CPA or equivalent.
• Up-to-date on GAAP, GASB, Government Auditing Standards, and Uniform Guidance.
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Interact with firm teams and clients across levels.
• Perform quality control reviews of assurance engagements.
• Analyze observations, perform root cause analysis, and suggest process improvements.
• Serve as a technical resource for research and application of professional standards.
• Develop and maintain assurance methodology and learning aids.
• Create thought leadership for internal and external audiences.
