Job summary

Empower Healthcare and Compliance Partners (Empower HCP), a CareCloud subsidiary, seeks an Audit Defense Auditor/Coder to lead regulatory coding audits and detailed medical record reviews for client engagements.

This full-time, hybrid role is based in Somerset, NJ or Fort Lauderdale, FL, with on-site requirements. You will ensure CMS and payer guidelines compliance, prepare findings reports, and collaborate with clients to resolve coding discrepancies and improve documentation.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience with clinical documentation auditing.
• Minimum 1 year in audit defense or payer audits.
• Experience in CMS and payer audits through chart reviews and findings reports.
• Strong knowledge of coding standards and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory audits for coding teams.
• Ensure timely completion of projects and deadlines.
• Prepare final audit reports with exact specifications.
• Interface with Legal for appeals and with Compliance on determinations.
• Identify opportunities to improve provider documentation and coding.
• Mentor audit coding teams to ensure deliverables.
