Job summary

Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, seeks an experienced coder auditor to conduct independent, risk-based coding compliance audits from a telecommute-friendly role across the U.S. You will review CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and prepare findings and remediation plans.

Candidates need 5+ years outpatient coding and CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P credentials, plus strong Excel and EHR experience. Remote eligibility and full benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Certification in CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P required or equivalent.
• 5+ years outpatient physician coding experience including CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10.
• 5+ years healthcare regulatory compliance experience (Medicare/Medicaid).
• 3+ years with electronic health records (EHRs).
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent, risk-based coding compliance audits of providers.
• Assess compliance with coding, billing, and documentation requirements.
• Research audit requests to support timely compliance review.
• Evaluate coding accuracy including E/M services and ICD-10.
• Identify compliance risks and support corrective actions and monitoring.
