Job summary

Clark builds AI that automates audit fieldwork and is used by 30 CPA firms today. We are hiring auditors to help implement the product with real engagements and to communicate needs to our engineers and product teams.

You’ll continue to work with audit teams daily while learning how software is built and refined from the inside. If you have a few years in public accounting and want to see what comes next, this role blends technical audit expertise with hands-on engineering collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of audit experience in public accounting.
• CPA credential is a plus.
• Strong understanding of audit methodology and engagement workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple customer relationships concurrently.
• Interest in technology and how AI can impact audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Learn how each firm runs its audits and assist with setup in Clark.
• Collaborate with partners, managers, and staff to redesign workflows affected by automation.
• Lead weekly check-ins with firms and assist pilots for new releases.
• Document customer issues as Linear tickets and track resolution.
• Work with Product and Engineering to define next features to build.
• Help onboarding of new firms as Clark scales.

Clark builds AI that does audit fieldwork. 30 CPA firms use it today. We're hiring auditors to help those firms get it running on real engagements, and to tell our engineers what needs to change.

If you've been in public accounting for a few years and you're wondering what's next, this is worth a look. You'd still work with audit teams every day, and your technical knowledge would matter as much as it does now. The difference is that you'd also work closely with our engineers and product team, and the fixes you push for end up in a product dozens of firms rely on. It's a good way to learn how software gets built without walking away from the expertise you've spent years developing.

What you'd be doing

• Getting to know how each firm runs its audits, then helping them set up and start using Clark
• Working with partners, managers, and staff to rethink parts of their workflow now that some of the fieldwork is automated
• Holding weekly check-ins with your firms and helping with pilots when we release something new
• Writing up problems customers run into as Linear issues and following them until they're fixed
• Sitting down with Product and Engineering to figure out what to build next
• Improving how we onboard new firms as we grow

Who we're looking for

• At least 3 years of audit experience. Big 4 or a Top 25 firm is ideal
• A CPA is a plus
• You know audit methodology well and understand how engagement teams actually get the work
• done
• You're comfortable managing a few customer relationships at the same time
• You're interested in technology and want to see what AI can do for audit

It helps if you've used audit software or tools like Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL, worked on an innovation project at your firm, or done implementation or consulting work. You don't need to have worked at a startup before.

The details

We work in the office in NYC five days a week. It's a startup, so the hours are long and things move quickly. There's no hierarchy here; everyone builds things and owns their results.
