Job summary

Bristol Hospital Group in Bristol, CT is seeking an experienced Compliance & Privacy Professional to support the Internal Audit, Compliance and Privacy programs.

The role involves implementing annual work plans, assisting with privacy incidents, regulatory audits, risk management and policy development, with emphasis on accuracy, ethics and healthcare compliance. This position is full-time, dayshift, and requires a 4-year degree with at least one year of related healthcare experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, compliance, privacy, internal audit or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist design and execution of annual Internal Audit, Compliance, and Privacy Work Plans.
  • Act as designee of the Compliance & Privacy Office.
  • Support privacy incidents: investigate, document, and report findings; review and manage privacy cases.
  • Support regulatory audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance and privacy standards are maintained.
  • Assist with the annual Enterprise Risk Management Program.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the annual Conflict of Interest disclosure process and related reporting.
  • Assist with internal control process and procedure reviews, noting any gaps, omissions, or opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with the implementation of corrective action plans and process improvements.
  • Present at new hire orientation and other workforce training and education sessions.
  • Stay abreast of changes in health care laws and regulations; complete research as directed.
  • Assist with policy reviews and assessments; draft policy proposals.
  • Maintain responsibility for professional growth and development.
  • Comply with all applicable organizational policies, including the Code of Conduct.
  • Exhibit predictive reliability and continually foster a culture of excellence.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as directed.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree. Preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the fields of healthcare, compliance, privacy, internal audit or comparable field.
State/Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements

None.

Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements

General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Other programs as mandated by the Hospital.

Special Requirements

Strong PC skills with ability to create and analyze spreadsheets and other complex financial and operational data. Excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Extended sitting, standing and walking. Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials, usually under 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Normal office conditions.
