Job summary

NWU is offering an on-the-job training opportunity for accounting students to learn GAAP and GAAS while supporting audit engagements. The role emphasizes collaboration, communication, and adherence to established audit methodologies.

You will document work, contribute ideas, and complete a research project as part of the program. The internship targets students enrolled in accounting programs who are pursuing CPA credentials and possess strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting (required); pursuing CPA recommended
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured on-the-job training program to learn GAAP and GAAS
• Become familiar with audit methodology to assist with audit engagements
• Provide support to audit staff during engagements
• Communicate with clients' stakeholders regarding audit issues
• Prepare and document work in working papers using firm templates
• Contribute ideas to audit teams and respond to team members' views
• Complete an accounting or audit-related research project and present findings
• Perform other duties as required
