Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown is seeking an Audit Associate for our Houston, TX office. You will work with seasoned CPAs on a variety of client engagements, conducting analyses of accounting records and financial statements, evaluating controls, and producing detailed workpapers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA or pursuing CPA certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of prior experience in public accounting audit is expected.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with GAAS through inquiry, observation and review.
• Create detailed workpapers supporting audit work.
• Contribute to portions of larger audit engagements with team members and supervisors.
• Assist in issue resolutions and provide recommendations on regulatory and accounting matters.
