Job summary

Withum Houston is seeking an Audit Associate to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. You will analyze client accounting records, assess internal controls, and contribute to varied audit engagements that drive stakeholder confidence.

You’ll work with seasoned CPAs and partners, have a path to Partnership, and experience a culture focused on growth, teamwork, and client service excellence within the Withum Way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required; CPA license or pursuing CPA preferred.
• At least 1 year of prior experience in the audit department of a public accounting firm.
• Excellent analytical, technical audit, organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and reviewing client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluating internal accounting control systems, audit risk, materiality and GAAS compliance.
• Creating detailed workpapers that support the accounting work being done.
• Working on portions of larger audit engagements.
• Collaborating with engagement team seniors, supervisors and partners on issue resolutions.
• Proofreading to become familiar with a wide range of reports.
• Assuming full responsibility on smaller audits as proficiency grows.
