Distinct | North America in Fort Myers is seeking an Audit Associate who wants to actually learn the job, not just survive busy season. The firm has a strong audit practice, a small firm feel, and partners who remain hands-on.
Expect exposure to 130–150 audits annually and meaningful client interaction on-site, with support from seniors and managers as you grow toward running engagements. You will engage in fieldwork and testing, with a focus on quality work.
This role is for Audit Associates who want to actually learn the job, not just survive busy season.
This is a long established CPA firm in Fort Myers with a strong audit practice and partners who are still involved in the work. Not distant. Not corporate. Present.
The audit team is around 15 people within a firm of just under 50. You will not get lost here.
The work is proper audit work.
Not for profit.
Construction.
Around 130 to 150 audits a year, giving you real exposure early on rather than being stuck on one small part of a job. Roughly a quarter of the work is on site, so you get client interaction without living out of a suitcase.
This role is about building toward running your own engagements.
You will be involved in fieldwork, testing, and working directly with seniors and managers. You will not be expected to lead jobs straight away, but you will be given the support and exposure to get there.
What makes this role different is the environment.
The expectation is good work, not long hours.
Overtime is the exception, not the rule.
Partners actually protect evenings and weekends.
This suits someone who wants:
Support from experienced partners
A clear path forward without burning out
CPA progress is welcomed but not required at this level.
If you have around 2 years of audit experience and feel ready to take the next step in the right environment, this is worth a look.
You do not need to tick every box to start a conversation.
