Job summary

CPS, Inc. is seeking a proactive professional to join our Assurance team in Chicago.

You will work closely with clients, acting as a trusted advisor to address complex accounting and business challenges while delivering high-quality audit and consulting services. You will develop your client service skills and technical accounting expertise through on-the-job coaching, firmwide learning, and mentoring, while networking internally and with clients to foster strong relationships and business

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in assurance and consulting services for middle-market clients.
• Strong client service and communication skills are required.
• Desire to develop technical accounting knowledge and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted member of the engagement team delivering assurance and consulting services to industry clients.
• Plan and supervise the execution of audit engagements.
• Review substantive testing of balance sheets and income statements.
• Assess internal control deficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Engage with management and partners to discuss recommendations.
• Learn from coaching and participate in development programs.

What you will do:

• Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various assurance and consulting services to industry specific clients:
  • Proactively engage with your clients throughout the year to gather needed information to complete testing and respond to questions raised
  • Plan and supervise the execution of all audit engagement activities
  • Review and perform substantive testing on client's balance sheets and income statements
  • Conduct and review tests to assess deficiencies of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement
  • Play an active role in discussions with the Manager and Partner relative to business recommendations resulting from testing performed and information gathered
• Learn and grow from direct on the job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs
• Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and with your clients
