Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our fast‑growing firm. The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of tax, audit and other assignments as designated by the Manager. The role requires minimal supervision and focuses on supervising and mentoring staff, independent problem solving, strengthening client relationships and increasing team profitability. Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs.


Your Contributions and Responsibilities


  • Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal oversight by managers.

  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews.

  • Assume increasing responsibility for engagement management.

  • Identify potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions.

  • Conduct business‑specific research – gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports and make recommendations.

  • Develop, strengthen and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness and a service‑oriented approach.

  • Enhance skills in the industries the firm focuses on by seeking out and completing training courses.

  • Improve the team’s profitability by managing time and staff efficiently, contributing ideas and adding value.

  • Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.

  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.


Your Background and Skills


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus), and 3‑5 years of experience in public accounting and/or a balance of education and work experience.

  • Ability to sit for the CPA exam or has passed sections of the CPA. CPA license is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity.

  • Accurate and time‑efficient work with strong attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and follow‑through skills.

  • Ability to prioritize a fast‑paced and varied workload, managing concurrent and shifting priorities.
