Job summary

Avidex is seeking an AV/IT Project Engineer to support design, planning, implementation, and commissioning of audiovisual and IT systems. You will collaborate with project managers, design teams, field engineers, and stakeholders to deliver projects within scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.

Responsibilities include developing drawings, defining technical requirements, estimating costs, and troubleshooting systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• 2+ years of AV/IT design or engineering experience.
• Experience producing technical drawings and documentation for architectural or construction projects.
• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV/IT systems.
• Knowledge of AV/IT installation practices, tools, test equipment, IBC, and NEC requirements.
• Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• CTS certification or ability to obtain within six months; CTS-I or CTS-D preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

• Serve as Project Lead on assigned projects and support successful system completion and client acceptance.
• Follow applicable safety standards and project-site requirements.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree in technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.

• 2+ years of AV/IT design or engineering experience.

• Experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV/IT systems.

• AVIXA CTS certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire;

  • CTS-I or CTS-D preferred.

• CompTIA A+ certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

• Ability to travel to project sites, including occasional overnight travel, and work flexible hours as project needs require.

• Ability to perform work in construction and project-site environments, including standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and carrying equipment.
