Job summary

HearingLife in Annapolis, MD seeks an Audiology extern to gain hands-on experience alongside experienced clinicians. You will access comprehensive evaluations, patient engagement, and mentorship across a national network of hearing care centers.

As part of the Demant group, you’ll explore cutting-edge technology, collaboration with externs nationwide, and opportunities for future roles within HearingLife, with a strong emphasis on professional development and patient care.

Qualifications

• Must actively be in an AuD program.
• Commitment to extern responsibilities and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Learn from preceptors and participate in audiology evaluations.
• Lead selection, fitting, follow-up, and service appointments for hearing aids.
• Order and service hearing aids and take earmold impressions.
• Conduct follow-up calls with patients and participate in meetings.
• Engage in monthly manufacturer-led workshops and trainer meetings.
• Participate in clinic/community meetings and assist with general tasks.

Salary range is $19-23/hr

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Learning: From day 1, gain practical experience and mentorship from audiologists in comprehensive evaluations, patient engagement, and solution-oriented education. Clinics may also offer experience in pediatric and vestibular testing.
• Peer interaction: You'll virtually connect with externs nationwide, building a supportive network for structured encouragement. This collaboration enhances clinical skills and insights into office operations.
• Continuous Growth: Thrive in an environment of learning and development by participating in monthly manufacturer-lead workshops or meet one-on-one with trainers for individualized learning. Daily Extern Responsibilities:

• Learn, ask questions to your preceptor.
• Appointment documentation
• Lead selection, fitting, follow-up, and service appointments
• Ordering/servicing hearing aids
• Earmold impressions
• Conduct follow up calls with patients.
• Participate in clinic/company meetings.
• Any task beneficial to your clinic
