Job summary

HearingLife in Annapolis, MD invites AuD students to join our extern program. You will gain hands-on experience across evaluations, patient engagement, and device fitting while mentored by licensed audiologists. Our nationwide network supports monthly workshops and potential internal advancement.

Externals will work with cutting-edge audiology technology, participate in training, and provide patient care in a collaborative clinic setting. Compensation ranges hourly and includes benefits.

Qualifications

• Must actively be in an AuD program.
• Strong interest in hands-on clinical learning and mentorship.
• Willingness to participate in clinic-wide meetings and training.

Responsibilities

• Learn from your preceptor and engage in clinical sessions.
• Document appointments accurately and consistently.
• Lead selection, fitting, and follow-up for hearing aids.
• Order and service hearing aids as needed.
• Take earmold impressions.
• Conduct follow-up calls with patients.
• Participate in clinic and company meetings.
• Perform any clinic-support task as required.

Salary range is $19-23/hr

Responsibilities

• - Hands-On Learning: From day 1, gain practical experience and mentorship from audiologists in comprehensive evaluations, patient engagement, and solution-oriented education. Clinics may also offer experience in pediatric and vestibular testing.
• - Peer interaction: You'll virtually connect with externs nationwide, building a supportive network for structured encouragement. This collaboration enhances clinical skills and insights into office operations.

Daily Extern Responsibilities

• Learn, ask questions to your preceptor.
