JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Audiologist to join our team at the ESC of Lake Erie West. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. The Audiologist works as an active team member in the programs and services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in organized Deaf/Hard of Hearing programs or mainstreamed into general education classrooms may receive audiometric evaluations, appropriate central auditory processing testing, and recommendations regarding appropriate hearing aids, hearing assistive technology (HAT) and/or DM systems.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctoral Degree or Master’s Degree in Audiology
  • Current licensure through the Ohio Speech and Hearing Board
  • Ohio State Board of Education Pupil Service Registration or ability to attain registration
  • Experience in pediatric audiology preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assess auditory status and amplification needs of children – including, but not limited to, diagnostic audiograms, immittance measures, otoacoustic emissions, central auditory processing testing, and functional listening evaluations; as well as ordering/fitting hearing aids and DM systems using real-ear measurements and best practice
  • Oversee district-owned equipment for service and maintenance, and keep records of serial numbers and assignments
  • Provide in-services, group and individual, to teachers and support personnel regarding classroom accommodations and equipment use at school
  • Educate and communicate with parents regarding audiological information and student needs
  • Identify and utilize resources for diagnostic audiological evaluations, otological services, and provision of amplification equipment for individual children
  • Make appropriate recommendations, accommodations, or suggest changes for educational programming for children with hearing needs
  • Collect and report data and documentation on students and programs to be used in the continued development of the educational audiology program
  • Assist in the arrangements of yearly calibration checks and/or repair of audiometric equipment
  • Assess and identify difficulties of referred students with suspected disabilities through non-discriminatory, diagnostic procedures
  • Interpret assessment information to teachers, students, and parents
  • Acts as resource person for classroom teachers regarding strategies, adaptations, and resource materials
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records; prepare and submit all required reports
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
