Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for all principal accountabilities of an Audiologist I.
- Meet all principal accountabilities and activities as identified for an Audiologist I.
- Manage a more involved, complex patient caseload.
- Participate in educational and mentoring activities with students, peers, hospital staff, and the community.
- Serve as a mentor for new team or program members.
- Assist with clinical education through training and instruction of students.
- Promote Audiology through educational and marketing programs.
- Provide in-services to peers in Rehab Services.
- Assist with orientation processes.
- Participate in Rehab Services growth and operations.
- Lead major projects or committees supporting established goals.
- Contribute to development of treatment protocols, policies, procedures, and clinical competencies.
- Engage in process improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Stay informed of clinical and operational developments and attend continuing education.
- Serve as a role model in documentation and monitor documentation quality among staff.
Licensure
Audiologist license in Illinois.
Education/Experience
- Masters or Doctorate in Audiology from an accredited school.
- At least 2 years of pertinent clinical experience.
- Experience with student supervision and providing in-services to peers.
- Advanced continuing education.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced clinical skills and expertise.
- Cerumen management experience.
- Licensed in Illinois.
- Current BLS certification.
- ASHA Certification (CCC/A).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Work evening and possibly weekend hours as needed.
- Lift 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials and diseases.
- Assist with patient handling, including lifts over 35 pounds using equipment and assistance.
- Off-campus work as needed.
