Qualifications

• Master's Degree (Required)
• or Clinical Doctorate in Audiology

Required Skills/Knowledge

Experience in the evaluation, remediation, and management of children with hearing loss.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Must be licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (Hearing Aid Dispenser's license also required in Virginia)
• Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Functional Accountabilities

1. Clinical Evaluation and Hearing Aid Assessment: Conduct audiological evaluations and hearing aid assessments efficiently using appropriate test procedures.
2. Parent Counseling and Recommendations: Counsel parents and children regarding test findings and recommendations, and make all appropriate referrals.
3. Caseload Management: Maintain a caseload comparable to other clinical audiologists.
4. Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
5. Safety: Promote safety, verify information, communicate clearly, and address unsafe behaviors. Practice Stop, Think, Act, and Review to ensure safety for patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
