Role Purpose

Provides audiologic services for outpatients and inpatients. Evaluates hearing and the auditory system. Counsel patients/parents regarding results and recommendations. Manage follow–up and/or treatment as warranted.

Responsibilities

• Conducts basic audiologic tests.
• Performs specialized testing as needed after appropriate training is provided.
• Obtains case history information pertinent to audiology services.
• Interprets past and present audiologic results for parents and professionals.
• Makes appropriate recommendations and determines the need for referral to specialists in related areas.
