The Audiologist provides support for all students throughout the district, particularly students who are deaf and hard of hearing and their families. Responsibilities include the administration of comprehensive hearing evaluations and providing interpretation of results, as well as recommendations. The Audiologist will select and program assistive listening technology as needed, and train/support students and district staff on its proper use and necessity. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Sensory Programs and Related Services.

The district accords preference in selection, retention, and promotion procedures to certain veterans and spouses of veterans who are Florida residents.
Experience working with pediatrics and difficult to test populations preferred. Open to recent graduates.
Valid Audiology license through the Florida Department of Health. Certification by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association preferred, but not required.
Reads, analyzes, and interprets the most complex documents. Responds effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Writes speeches and makes effective and persuasive speeches on controversial or complex topics to a variety of audiences.
Works with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables.
Knowledge of relevant and current computer software programs. Sufficient in use of electronic medical records for note taking and patient tracking.

This position requires traveling to various school sites, work locations and/or community organizations throughout the district. Independent and reliable means of transportation required.
