Job summary

Qualifications

Position Summary

We are seeking an outstanding Audiologist with experience working with pediatric populations. This individual will provide diagnostic, habilitation and educational services to infants, children and their families. The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed pediatric behavioral audiometric evaluations to diagnose and monitor hearing conditions in infants and children.
  • Conduct comprehensive electrophysiological assessments to support the early identification of hearing loss in newborns.
  • Manage pediatric hearing aid selection, fitting, verification, and ongoing hearing technology care tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Fit, verify and provide ongoing management of personal and classroom assistive technology, including FM/DM/Roger systems.
  • Evaluate candidacy for cochlear implantation, counsel families on device selection, and provide initial stimulation, mapping, and continued Cochlear Implant programming and management.
  • Educate and empower parents, students, and professionals through advocacy training, auditory development counseling, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team including Audiologists, Speech Language Pathologists, Teachers, Otologists, Administrators, Public School Staff, and Early Interventionists to deliver integrated care and services.
  • Deliver in-services and public presentations to promote community awareness, foster partnerships, and support outreach efforts.
  • Engage in research initiatives to contribute to the advancement of pediatric audiology and evidence-based practices.
  • Perform duties to support the mission of Sunshine Cottage as assigned. (Including but not limited to celebration events, holiday activities, school functions and student drop-off and pick-up).

Education and/or Experience
  • Individual must possess a doctoral degree (Au.D. or Ph.D.) in Audiology from an accredited institution. Experience as a pediatric Audiologist is preferred.
  • Current state licensure to practice Audiology is required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Clinical experience with pediatric populations, including newborns, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with cochlear implants, hearing aid technology, and electrophysiological testing is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams and educational or early intervention settings is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and willingness to learn, take recommendations, and collaborate with team members is required.
  • Willingness to contribute to teaching, mentoring, and outreach efforts.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills would be desirable to serve diverse patient populations.
