**SUMMARY: **
Responsible for providing direct support to licensed Educational Audiologist and performing all duties under their direction. Assist the school nurses in preparing and administering district hearing screenings. First point of contact for students with newly identified hearing deficits playing a critical role in the successful educational outcome of students with hearing loss. Maintain student audiological records and documentation of results.
**JOB TASKS: **
- Administer hearing screenings at each school site under the supervision of the licensed Educational Audiologist, including otoscopic examinations, tympanometry testing, pure tone screening and otoacoustic emissions screenings.
- Conduct follow-up hearing screenings and re-check screens as directed by the Educational Audiologist.
- Assist the school nurse and health tech in preparing for hearing screening, including setting up equipment and cleaning the equipment after screening.
- Train volunteers to administer the school-based hearing screening protocol.
- Document all referrals and send referral and reminder letters to guardians.
- Update results in student audiology electronic files/records in the Student Information System (Synergy and Child Plus).
- Maintain the audiology database.
- Inventory required Audiology supplies for screenings.
- Coordinate screenings for preschool and kindergarten.
- Collaborate with Educational Audiologist in creating correspondence letters, forms, and other memos. Assist with office/clerical duties as needed.
- Attend required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES REQUIRED: **
- Bachelor's degree in audiology or a related field
- One to two years of related experience required
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
- Experience working with special needs students preferred
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid US driver's license
